The Benalmádena City Council in Málaga has announced that the Benalmádena Pueblo town center will be affected by a power outage next Monday, May 5th. This operation will be carried out continuously from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The information was shared by the City Council via its social media channels in a statement that directly cites the company responsible for the electricity supply, e-Distribución, as the source. Residents will once again face a significant power outage similar to the one that occurred last Monday, but without the uncertainty of seven days ago. This outage affected the entire peninsula, and the causes are still unknown.

Planned Outage for Maintenance Work
According to the City Council, the power outage is in response to necessary maintenance work being carried out by e-Distribución during this period. According to the company, this is a scheduled measure as part of a plan to improve the electricity network.

Although the outages are temporary, they could cause inconvenience to residents and businesses in the area. For this reason, the City Council has decided to provide advance notice to allow those affected to plan better.

The City Council emphasizes its role in this process
In the published communication, the City Council emphasizes that its role is purely informative and that it is not directly involved in the technical work or in the decision regarding the outage. The aim is to “ensure the highest level of transparency and advance notice” in light of a measure that could disrupt the daily lives of many residents.

No details were given regarding the affected streets or whether there will be alternative or subsequent outages, although e-Distribución generally keeps information up to date through its official channels.

This outage takes place in the context of the improvement of the electricity infrastructure in the municipalities on the Costa del Sol, where population and tourism growth require constant reinforcement of the supply networks.

The work, which will last a total of ten hours, aims to ensure improved performance of the power grid in the near future, as the distribution company announced in its communication to the city council.

The local administration has asked residents to pay attention to possible updates and to remember that any changes to the schedule or scope of the outage will be announced via its social media and official channels.
