Saragossa, Spain – The Spanish National Police has launched an intensive investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving two three-year-old children attending a religious school in Saragossa. The Family and Women’s Assistance Unit (UFAM) of the National Police is handling the case, which came to light last week and has caused widespread dismay across the country.
Disturbing Reports from Three-Year-Olds
The shocking incidents emerged when a boy and a girl, both in their first year of pre-school, independently reported similar alleged sexual assaults to their parents. Both children not only described comparable situations but also pointed to the same location within the school where the assaults purportedly occurred – a specific room within the center. These consistencies raised immediate alarm among the parents and led to the prompt involvement of authorities.
Sacred Heart of Jesus School Under Scrutiny
According to local media, including “Heraldo de Aragón,” the institution involved is the Sacred Heart of Jesus School on Paseo de la Mina in the Aragonese capital. The Ministry of Education of the Government of Aragon has immediately activated the established protocol for cases of sexual violence and has demanded “transparency” from the school in clarifying the incident.
The school management issued a statement to the families of the students on Sunday, confirming an incident they described as “unpleasant and disturbing.” According to “Hoy Aragón,” the school has temporarily suspended the teacher whose identity had already begun circulating in parent chats.
Early Stages of Investigation: Seeking Evidence and Witnesses
The UFAM’s investigation is still in its initial stages. Officers were reportedly alerted to the alleged abuse early Friday morning. The father of one of the affected children went to the Mother and Child Hospital in Saragossa with his daughter after being informed by the father of the other child about similar experiences.
Currently, there is neither a conclusive scenario nor confirmation of the possibility of further victims. The police are conducting extensive interviews with family members to gather all necessary evidence and testimonies. The incident has caused great upset and concern among the school’s parents.
