The People’s Party (PP) is causing a stir with a controversial video on social media. In it, the Spanish government is branded as “Mafia” and citizens are called to protest on Sunday. The visual design is strikingly reminiscent of the film “The Godfather” to underline the message: “We will kick them out.”
A Scandalous Video Shakes Spain
On Thursday, the PP released a video that quickly went viral. It shows President Pedro Sánchez and former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos in a staging that brings to mind scenes from “The Godfather.” Other prominent figures in the Spanish political landscape, such as Begoña Gómez (the President’s wife), Santos Cerdán (number 3 of the PSOE), Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz, and Víctor de Aldama (commissioner of the Koldo conspiracy), are also featured in the montage.
The accompanying message is unequivocal: “They are a mafia and we will kick them out. Everyone on the streets on Sunday!” This drastic call supports PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s appeal from last week to take to the streets and “say on the streets what they don’t let you demonstrate at the polls.”
Son una mafia y vamos a echarles.

Protest Rally in Madrid: “Decency and Honesty for Spain”
The demonstration is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, at 11:00 AM in the Plaza de España in Madrid. The aim is to send a clear signal and “stand on the side of the Guardia Civil and not on the side of those who defame them.” Feijóo emphasized that the call for the demonstration was “without acronyms, without political parties” and served to “demand decency and honesty in Spanish politics.”
Controversy over Audio Use: Copyright Lawsuits Loom
The video begins with an audio excerpt originally published by the newspaper “El Confidencial.” The voice of businessman Javier Pérez Dolset can be heard. Dolset, a collaborator of Leire Díez – a former PSOE activist who became known through audio recordings in which she offered business partners deals with the public prosecutor’s office – expressed his displeasure this morning on the program “Mañaneros 360” on La 1 about the unauthorized use of his voice. He announced that he would take legal action against the PP: “That was exactly what I thought, with that I have already set the budget for the year. They sent that to ten million people with my voice to promote themselves without my permission.” Dolset intends to claim “image rights.”
