One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in an explosion that occurred early this morning at an industrial battery recycling facility in the municipality of Sant Julià de Llor i Bonmatí (Girona).
According to the Generalitat fire department, they received notification of the explosion at 6:15 a.m. and dispatched five emergency teams to the scene. The Technological Incidents Group (GRIT) unit was also called in.
The Medical Emergency System (SEM) reported that it had transported the two injured people, one in serious condition and one in less serious condition, to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona.
Following the explosion in Sant Julià de Llor, the SEM activated seven ground units and a team of psychologists.
