In a statement published on X (formerly Twitter), the Israeli Embassy sharply rejected the Spanish condemnation: “We reject and deeply regret the Spanish government’s statement, which completely ignores the existential threat to Israel posed by the Iranian nuclear program.” This clear message underscores the growing divide between the two nations in assessing regional security in the Middle East.
The embassy emphasized the seriousness of the situation for Israel and posed provocative questions to Spain: “Is Spain willing to live under the threat of a nuclear weapon, under the risk of annihilation, and under constant terrorism?” This alluded to the threat Israel believes it faces from Iran.

Is Spain Aware of the Iranian Nuclear Danger?
