A tragic altercation occurred in Valencia, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old and the serious injury of a 17-year-old. Initial investigations indicate that the conflict between two groups of teenagers may have been triggered by a relationship one of the groups had or was seeking with a girl. However, this hypothesis is still being investigated further.
The incidents occurred after 10:00 p.m. at the Protestant church on Calle Castell de Pop in the Natzaret district of Valencia, where the victims were apparently staying. The alleged perpetrators, suspected of the murder of one of the boys and the attempted murder of the other, arrived at the location and began an argument that quickly escalated into a fight. At least one knife was used.
As a result of this altercation, the 25-year-old died at the scene after suffering multiple stab wounds. His 17-year-old brother sustained very serious injuries.
Immediate response from relatives
Relatives and neighbors immediately called 112, whereupon units from the National Police, the local police, and two SAMU ambulances were dispatched to the scene. They stabilized the younger brother at the scene and transported him to La Fe Hospital in Valencia. The other team could only confirm the older brother’s death.
Last night, police continued their search for the fleeing attackers, who immediately left the scene before the victims’ relatives could retaliate. Numerous relatives of the two teenagers gathered around the aforementioned hospital, where they awaited news of the injured brother’s health. According to the latest information, the boy was to be urgently operated on by the medical team on duty.
Meanwhile, the on-duty judge of Instruction 3 of Valencia and the forensic pathologist arrived at the scene. After the coroner examined the body, the judge ordered its removal and transfer to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Valencia, where the autopsy will be performed.
