At least three people were injured on the Delicias Bridge in Seville, near the fairgrounds, after being run over by a runaway horse.
Among the injured were an 11-month-old baby and a 40-year-old man, who had to be evacuated to the Virgen del Rocío Traumatology Hospital in the Andalusian capital with various injuries.
The incident occurred at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, when the horse ran over several people in an uncontrolled manner before being caught by experts from the Seville Animal Welfare Center.
According to the Health Emergency Services, numerous emergency calls were received at the time, and both health personnel and the local police were alerted.
Municipal sources also report that after the rescue, animal welfare experts took the horse to a veterinary checkpoint on Costillares Street for an inspection and the relevant report. The horse’s owner then assumed responsibility for the animal.
The horse’s documentation is “fine,” the same sources add. The causes of the incident are currently being investigated but are unknown at this time, as the case is “pending litigation.”
