At least twelve people were injured in an accident caused by a collision between a truck and a bus in Torremolinos, Málaga, on Sunday. The AP-7 highway toward Cádiz was completely closed, according to the Andalusia 112 emergency service.

According to a statement from the coordination center, the accident occurred around midday when several witnesses reported the collision to the emergency number 112 at kilometer mark 998 of the AP-7 highway toward Cádiz. Health personnel confirmed that at least twelve people were injured, including eleven bus passengers and the truck driver, who was trapped after the accident.

In response to the incident, the coordination center immediately activated the Málaga Fire Department, as well as the Provincial Consortium, the Guardia Civil de Transport (Civil Guard), the local police, the Civil Protection Agency, and the Health Emergency Center (CES) 061. Rescue efforts were successful, but traffic on this section remains severely disrupted.

The official website of the Directorate General for Transport announced that traffic was disrupted between kilometer markers 229.27 and 228.18 in the direction of Cádiz starting at 12:58 p.m. The severity of the incident and the extent of the injuries are not yet known.

The accident also caused significant traffic jams, including from kilometer marker 1.62 of the MA-20 in Churriana to kilometer marker 0 in Torremolinos, also in the direction of Cádiz.
