Arrest after Shocking Attack at Madrid South Station: Woman Pushed from Seven Meters Height

A shocking incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the Méndez Álvaro bus station in Madrid, when a 37-year-old man pushed a woman from a height of about seven meters. The suspect, who is from the Maghreb, was immediately arrested. According to the police, there was no relationship between the perpetrator and the victim.

Dramatic Scenes at the Bus Station

The attack took place around 8:00 PM. The victim was leaning against an outer wall of the station when the man approached her and suddenly pushed her into the void. Members of Samur Civil Protection immediately rushed to help the woman. Despite the severe impact, she was conscious but complained of severe pain in her spine and right rib cage. She was immediately stabilized and transported to the “12 de Octubre” Hospital with a potentially serious prognosis.

Quick Arrest Thanks to Eyewitnesses

Several eyewitnesses observed the shocking incident and were able to identify the suspect, which enabled city police officers to make a quick arrest. The National Police has launched a comprehensive investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the attack. Surveillance camera footage from the station is also being evaluated to corroborate the statements of those present. The city police supported the measures on site and escorted the ambulance to the hospital.
