Minister for Ecological Transition Sara Aagesen avoided holding Red Eléctrica President Beatriz Corredor accountable for the April 28 power outage. She revealed that the investigative committee ruled out any connection between the causes of “coverage, reserves, or networks” and that the generation losses originated in Granada, Badajoz, and Seville.
Borja Sémper, PP spokesperson, criticized the government for its lack of transparency and explanations regarding the power outage suffered by the peninsula on April 28. Minister Aagesen stated that the investigative committee found that “it was not a problem of coverage, reserves, or networks, and that the generation losses began in Granada, Badajoz, and Seville.”
“We are working to identify the causes and communicate them transparently to citizens in this plenary session and around the world. That is our commitment, and that is exactly what we are doing tirelessly. It is an extremely complex issue that requires diligence. The Spanish people deserve the truth, and that is exactly what they will get from this government,” Aagesen said.
