A 52-year-old Ukrainian man died on Wednesday after being shot multiple times in the middle of the street near the American School in the Madrid municipality of Pozuelo de Alarcón. The tragic events occurred just a few meters from the educational center, as dozens of students were entering the premises.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. at Calle América No. 3. Workers from a nearby workshop reported to 20minutos that several gunshots were heard in the area. Upon arrival, staff from the Summa 112 health service could only confirm the man’s death, which occurred due to serious injuries caused by multiple gunshots and was “incompatible with life.”
Agents from the Scientific Police and the Fifth Homicide Squad were dispatched to the scene and have taken over the investigation.

Emergency services were only able to confirm the victim’s death after arriving at the scene. Agents from the Fifth Homicide Unit of the National Police were also called in and have already begun their investigation. The man was shot five times in the head, resulting in his instant death.
According to police, the attackers waited for their victim on different motorcycles at the school entrance. When the hitmen noticed the man getting into his vehicle, they surprised him and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Although no hypothesis has been ruled out, initial investigations point to a possible payback.
