The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation into a person suspected of dumping four puppies into a dumpster on February 15 in the town of Caspe, Zaragoza. This is in connection with the alleged crime of animal abandonment. The puppies, which showed signs of hypothermia and starvation when discovered, were barely two or three days old.
The investigation began in early February after SEPRONA agents from Caspe discovered a social media post related to the crime of animal abandonment. The subsequent investigations linked the events to the discovery of the four puppies by a neighbor on February 15.
The animals had been dumped in the dumpster, were suffering from hypothermia and starvation, and were barely able to move. They required treatment by a veterinarian in AlcaƱiz (Teruel).

Officers inspected the area and, thanks to surveillance cameras, were able to identify a man who arrived in his car and threw two bags into the trash cans.
After identifying the vehicle and its owner, it was determined that this person owned a dog that may be of breeding age. Therefore, the animal was located, and DNA samples were taken to determine if it was related to the puppies.
