In recent days, the port of Palma de Mallorca has become the epicenter of global nautical opulence with the simultaneous arrival of Jeff Bezos’ and Mark Zuckerberg‘s superyachts.

This isn’t the first time the Mallorcan marina has welcomed these impressive yachts, but it is the first time they’ve been moored at the same time. In 2023, Jeff Bezos made one of his first crossings aboard the Koru in the waters of the Balearic Islands, while Zuckerberg attempted to keep his $300 million yacht, the Launchpad, under the radar in 2024 while celebrating his father’s birthday in Mallorca.

An impressive spectacle. Watching a 127-meter schooner worth $500 million cross paths with a 118-meter superyacht worth $300 million at the entrance to the Club de Mar in Palma de Mallorca is a rare sight—at least not weeks before the start of the summer season.

According to Diario de Mallorca, the Koru arrived in Mallorca on April 25th after crossing the Atlantic. On Monday morning, Mark Zuckerberg’s Launchpad, which had just left Norwegian waters after an adventure with the Meta founder, entered the bay. These two titans of luxury are joined by a third colossus: Maurizio Gucci’s Creole, an exclusive schooner built in 1927 and 65 meters long, owned by the Gucci family since 1983.

The meeting of these giants not only surprised the island’s residents and visitors, but also set a precedent in the recent history of the Mallorcan Nautical Club, which will inaugurate the expansion of its facilities next July. Given the traffic of superyachts and millionaires, this is hardly surprising.

There are no coincidences. This impressive parade through the Mallorcan pontoons is anything but random. The presence of Launchpad, the Koru, and its support vessel, the Abeona, are part of the preparations for the upcoming wedding of Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, which will take place in Venice from June 24 to 26.

As reported by local media outlet Última Hora, Mallorca served as a stopover for these colossi before continuing their journey to Venetian waters. According to data provided by VesselFinder, Bezos’ Koru has already left Balearic waters and is now anchored off the port of Antibes, France, to discreetly begin its approach to its destination in Venice.

The Venetian wedding. The wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez will take place in Venice, but not on board the Koru, as initially assumed and later denied by the Daily Mail. Instead, Bezos and Zuckerberg’s superyachts, as well as other luxury yachts participating in the millionaire’s wedding, will serve as helicopter landing pads and provide exclusive accommodations for some of the hundreds of guests expected at the ceremony.

Prominent names on this select guest list include celebrities such as Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Zuckerberg, and singer Katy Perry, who recently accompanied Lauren Sanchez on her space flight. Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump are also on the guest list. However, the former US president’s attendance has not yet been confirmed, especially given the recent tensions between the Trump administration and Amazon.
