A vehicle ran over several Espanyol fans, leaving 13 people with minor injuries near the RCDE Stadium, home of Espanyol. This happened before the derby against FC Barcelona. According to the Mossos d’Esquadra, the incident was accidental, ruling out the possibility of a targeted attack. A woman in her 50s, who tested negative for drugs and alcohol, was arrested.

The incident occurred at 9:02 p.m. “approximately at Avenida Llobregat No. 100” and coincided with the start of the La Liga match between Espanyol and Barcelona, ​​according to Eduard Sallent, the Mossos d’Esquadra commissioner and head of the Metropolitan Police Region South.

“A person driving a vehicle on an open road was surrounded by fans heading to the stadium. For an as yet unclear reason, he accelerated to leave the premises,” he explained.

The match between Espanyol and Barcelona was briefly interrupted after ten minutes after the incident near the stadium was reported over the loudspeaker.
