Spain is poised to launch a new and more effective vaccine against tuberculosis, the world’s deadliest infectious disease, which kills more than one million people annually. Research initiated 25 years ago by Carlos Martín, a microbiologist and professor at the University of Zaragoza, will culminate in 2028 with the results of clinical trials on infants and adults.
