Benidorm could soon have its first overnight RV park, following in the footsteps of neighboring Finestrat and l’Alfas del Pi.

Melmus Activos SL has submitted a formal offer to the Valencian government for a 29,000 m² site.

The park will be built on two plots of land in an industrial area in the Marxassos district. It will be located near the N-332 and the Salt de l’Aigua school district, on land classified as non-developable.

The project will provide 284 RV parking spaces and aims to “respond to the growing demand for this type of tourist service,” according to the company.

A shared service building with showers and toilets, as well as a spacious central recreation area, is also planned.

A 24-hour reception area will also be created.

Benidorm already has numerous campsites, but the city council has so far refrained from creating motorhome parking areas.

The Valencian Ministry of the Environment, Infrastructure and Territory will collect opinions on the project by the end of May.

Afterward, a decision will be made as to whether to proceed to the next phase, i.e., whether to issue a Declaration of Community Interest and assess the project’s viability.
