Valencia is experiencing a wave of concern after a brutal mass brawl in the Patraix district led to nine arrests. The National Police have apprehended nine young individuals aged between 14 and 26, including five minors, for their alleged involvement in the violent confrontation. Knives, broken bottles, wooden sticks, and even a python-like chain were used in the clashes, as reported by the Superior Police Headquarters of the Valencian Community.

The dramatic events unfolded last Friday evening around 11:00 PM. The CIMACC-091 room alerted a patrol from the Immediate Response to Crime Group (GRIC) about the presence of around 20 people violently confronting each other with knives in the middle of the street. Upon the officers’ arrival, the direct participants had already fled.

Witness Accounts Reveal Disturbing Details

However, investigators were able to gather crucial witness testimonies. These indicated that a large group had pursued a man with a broken glass bottle, eventually catching and attacking him. During the operation near the incident site, police located several youths whose descriptions matched those of the brawl’s participants. Interestingly, the officers found that the assaulted man had also previously attacked one of the individuals involved with a broken bottle. This suggests a complex dynamic of violence.

Arsenal of Weapons Seized: Evidence Secures Crime

During a superficial search of the suspects, as well as in a nearby trash can where they had allegedly disposed of some of the materials used, officers confiscated an alarming arsenal of weapons: a python-like chain, three knives, a broken bottle, three wooden sticks, and a metal rod. These findings underscore the intensity and danger of the confrontation.

The nine youths were arrested for alleged threats and assault offenses. The five minors were released after notification to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. The other four arrestees, two of whom had prior records, were brought before the court. Investigations to fully clarify the facts are still ongoing and promise further details in this disturbing case.
