Spain’s passenger car market continues to show robustness and exceeds expectations. With impressive growth in June and a strong first half of the year, a record year is emerging. The Spanish passenger car market experienced phenomenal growth in June 2025. With 119,125 registered passenger cars, an increase of 15.2% was recorded. This indicates that the total annual figures for 2024 could be surpassed, especially since over 600,000 vehicles have already been sold in the first half of the year alone. This positive development underlines the recovery and strength of the automotive sector in Spain.

Electric Mobility in the Fast Lane: Strong Growth for BEV and PHEV

A particularly noteworthy trend is the massive increase in electrified vehicles (BEV+PHEV). In June, sales of this category rose by 130.7% to almost 25,000 units sold. These data, published by industry associations ANFAC, FACONAUTO, and GANVAM, clearly show the growing acceptance and demand for more environmentally friendly mobility solutions in Spain.

Best-Selling Car Brands in June 2025: Renault at the Top

The reports from the leading automotive associations reflect an exciting turnaround. Renault surprisingly positioned itself as the best-selling brand in Spain in June, with a total of 9,590 registrations and a market share of 8.05%. The French manufacturer thus overtook established giants.

Renault is closely followed by Toyota, which sold 8,993 units (7.55% share). The podium is completed by Volkswagen with 8,822 vehicles sold and a share of 7.41%.

Most Popular Car Models in June 2025: Dacia Sandero Remains King

Among individual models, the Dacia Sandero once again holds the top spot with an impressive 4,329 registered units. This underscores its continued popularity as an affordable and practical vehicle.

In second place is the legendary Renault Clio, which achieved 3,317 sales in June. The podium is rounded off by the Seat Arona with 2,623 cars sold.

Looking at the cumulative sales figures for 2025 (January to June), the Dacia Sandero remains the undisputed market leader with 20,366 units sold. It is followed by the MG ZS with 15,014 registrations, underscoring its strong presence in the Spanish market. In third place is the Renault Clio with 13,445 sales.

  • Peugeot 208: 12,129 registrations
