A powerful explosion rocked the “Casa Javi” bar in Lo Pagán, San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia), today, leaving at least 13 people injured. Two individuals are in critical condition, and one is seriously injured. The exact cause of the detonation remains unknown at this time.

The two critically injured victims were immediately transported to the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia. One of the affected is being treated in the intensive care unit, the other in the burn unit. Another person with serious injuries was admitted to the Los Arcos del Mar Menor Hospital in San Javier. Furthermore, six less severely injured individuals were evacuated to the Los Arcos de San Javier and “Santa Lucía” hospitals in Cartagena. Seven lightly injured people were treated on-site at a health center.

The 112 emergency coordination center received over 25 calls since 12:23 p.m. reporting the explosion at the corner of Torres Fontes Street and Avenida Salzillo.
