The decomposing bodies of two young people, a man and a woman aged 24 to 25, were discovered in a tourist complex in southern Tenerife. The overnight guests had reported a foul odor emanating from one of the apartments.
According to the newspaper El Día, which confirmed information from National Police sources on Saturday, the deaths of these two individuals were not of natural causes. Therefore, officers are investigating a possible violent death, although this does not mean that violence was used against them.
According to the sources consulted, investigators are working on various hypotheses that will be clarified during the investigation. The identities of the two deceased are also known: the man is of Italian origin, while the woman lives on the island but has Argentinian roots.
Both bodies have been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Tenerife, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the circumstances of their deaths.
The discovery of the bodies occurred on Friday afternoon when guests of the tourist complex in Costa Adeje noticed an unpleasant odor emanating from one of the apartments. Authorities were notified, and upon entering the scene, they found the two bodies in an advanced state of decomposition.
